Facebook’s Advertising Policies are requirements advertisers must follow when running Facebook ads. They’re designed to help protect people from poor ad experiences, and help to support more meaningful connections between people and businesses.
Our ad review system relies primarily on automated technology to apply our Advertising Policies to the millions of ads that are run across our apps. However, we do use human reviewers to improve and train our automated systems, and in some cases, to manually review some ads.
Previously approved ads can be selected for another review for a number of reasons, including if people hide, block, report or otherwise provide negative feedback about an ad, all of which could help indicate that we missed something during the review process. For example:
- It could be done at random to help us ensure accuracy.
- If it receives unexpectedly high levels of engagement, especially when people block or hide ads.
- We also use a combination of signals, including reports from people, to help identify if we missed something during the review process.
If your ad is going through additional review, you won’t be notified unless it’s found to violate our Advertising Policies. If it is found to violate our policies, it’ll be rejected and we’ll stop delivery of the ad.
